Corruption Perceptions

Posted on December 5, 2013

Corruption watchdog Transparency International has just released its Corruption Perceptions Index for 2013.
The index ranks countries and territories based on how corrupt their public sector is perceived to be. It scores 177 countries and territories on a scale from 0 (highly corrupt) to 100 (very clean). No country has a perfect score, and two-thirds of countries score below 50.
For anyone doing business worldwide or thinking of expanding internationally, levels of corruption are an important factor to take into consideration when choosing business partners and business locations.
According to the index, Denmark and New Zealand are the cleanest countries, while Somalia, North Korea and Afghanistan are the most corrupt.
